PRIDE MARCH GREAT AUSSIE BAKE OFF

The Tuesday Brekky Show team were ecstatic to find out they had taken out first prize in the Novelties section of the Bake Off last Saturday and even more so excited that their cake raised $110.00 for the March next year.
The idea was simple, create a cake that had something to do with our Brekky Show. What a brainwave, a cake that looks like a breakfast! Sadly Taryn was sick and couldn't be a part of the cake cooking experience so Jase set out with JOY's own Chef Nathan to embark on a challenge like no other.
The two men kicked off the fun at Nathan's posh little bachelor pad in Cheltenham and it all got underway. Creating Sausage (vegetarian of course), Bacon, Eggs and Tomato.
Check out the pics and video below. Let us know what you think of our cake, and possibly what you think we could do next year?

TUESDAY BREKKY SHOW, WITH TARYN AND JASE. 6AM TO 9AM ON JOY 94.9 AND JOY.ORG.AU

OLYMPIANS WELCOME HOME PARADE

JASE> How lucky am I to be a part of JOY at its new home on Bourke Street, in the heart of Melbourne where all the action is.
Yesterday I had the chance to take a walk down to Swanston Street to take a looksie at the Olympians' Welcome Home Parade, and what a beautiful day for it. Melbourne was looking great, spring is truly here and I'm loving it.
I decided to wedge my way in between two lovely bogan women and secure my place along the parade trail. Lovely women really. Loud, obnoxious and a little smelly. But who's complaining. They were there for the very same reason I was, to get look at some truly great olympians.. well ok, perhaps it was only a quarter of the team, and perhaps there were only people from sports that you didn't even know were a part of the games, but they were there. The bogans didn't seem to mind all that much. That's what I love about bogans, warm and friendly and easy to please. "ohh hey look, it's some guy I don't know from some sport I didn't even know existed, can I have your autograph?", and where will that autograph on the minature Australian flag end up when it gets home? Who knows, but it's safe to say it will be sticking out of the Cortina window on the way home. My favourite part was when they started hurling abuse at the olympians that didn't sign their collectors edition Bank West Flags. "Hey Table Tennis guy, sign this.. dick head!"
I decided then to follow the cattle down Swanston street heading towards Fed Square for the big 'After Party', anyone up for a time filler?
Channel 7 Olympic montages, is there anything more painful? I stood there for 10 minutes enduring shameless self-promotion from games commentators like "Australia DOES have talent".. get me a bucket.
After sticking Blu-Tac in my ears and starting on the process of digging my eyes out with a plastic fork I had in my pocket from McDonald's, I paused to see Grant Hackett step up onto the Fed Square stage. Yeah, Grant Hackett.. you know, that 'has been' that used to be good at swimming, the one that was going to win all those gold medals in China.. OHHHH, yes yes.
I think the man standing next to me who was clapping his hands loudly above his head summed it up when he said "Who's this guy, who's this guy?"
After coming to the realisation that I wasn't going to see my favourite Gold Medal winning diver here and naked (you know which one), I decided to head back to work.

TAZ & JASE BACK DOIN' THEIR THANG

JASE> Hey guys, hope your weekend was fab. Mine kicked off very well with my dear JOY friends John and Dan. Sadly I had to work both Saturday and Sunday night. How I long for a night off!. Seems I have to start the horrid task of canceling cards and getting new ones. Have you ever lost anything important to you? Tell us just after 7.30, there's a $25- OUT Video voucher in it for you!

TARYN> Hey guys, it's good to be back on air, I missed you all, thanks for the well wishes and I look forward to keeping you informed and entertained again this morning (and keeping Jase in line).

MUMMY PICS

JASE WRITES> Busy Busy Busy. Isn't that just life. The last few weeks have been nuts for with so much to do! I think all together I've done about 100 hours in the last two weeks both at JOY in production and my part time job at the hotel. That is my excuse for not getting these pics up and running as promised, I hope you can forgive me. I am doing my best to keep this blog updated and so has Taryn. We promise to stay on top of it from now on.

Would you believe that on Monday night I made the call to Taryn to inform her that I was feeling sick only to find that she had left me a voicemail message explaining the same on her behalf. What are the odds. Regardless I will be back on to host the Tuesday Brekky Show next week from 6am with the hope that Taz will join me again (She is very sick)

Hope you can join me then! I look forward to chatting with you soon!

P.S A very big hug and kiss to the wonderful Liz for filling in for us at short notice. I heard she did an awsome job! Thanks Lizzy x0x

Jase,OUT!
